Welcome Home

If you don't have it all together, don't worry, neither do we. We don't pretend that everything is perfect in our lives because it isn't. We are a group of messed up people that gather together to worship the only one who is, Jesus.

HAVE A QUESTION YOU WANT ANSWERS TO?

Often we have questions about life, faith, the Bible, Jesus, doubts,
etc. that we are afraid to ask out loud. We believe asking tough questions is key to growing in our relationship with Jesus and others. This is true for students and parents alike. Coming soon, we will be answering your questions through real interviews with real people, and we cannot wait! Below you will see a box where you can submit any question you like without us knowing who you are.
Seriously, this is completely anonymous.
No question is too bad or stupid, so please, ask away!

What is Comma?

A Comma is the pause in a sentence that sets the tone for what follows. We believe Jesus is the Comma and when you experience Him, you will never be the same! Our vision is "to create a community of students who passionately love Jesus and people."
No matter what you've done, how you feel about yourself, what lifestyle you live, or what sin you are stuck in; God's not done with you! What happens in the beginning of your sentence doesn't set the tone for the rest of your sentence; the comma does. We hope to help you find God's purpose for your life in redeeming this messed up world!

when we gather

Gathering together with others is a crucial part of following Jesus. We gather becuase we recognize doing life alone is impossible. We aren't wired that way. God made us to thrive together!

Big Group

Big group is our Sunday night gatherings. At Comma, we gather to worship, hear stories from people who walked with Jesus while He was on earth, and grow together. Make sure you arrive early to grab coffee, a snack, and meet some new people!

Discipleship

When Jesus left this earth, He left us with a command for what to do; make Disciples. Because this was Jesus' command, we believe it should be the most important thing we do! In Comma, students are discipled by our leaders. Discipleship is a way of life and we want to show you the way Jesus wants you to live.

Small Group

Small group is a time where we sit together and talk about Jesus, life, issues, etc. These groups happen on Sunday night right after Big Group.  In these groups, you will experience fun, people you can lean on in though times, and a leader who genuinely cares about YOU!

Tell the story

Storytelling is the oldest form of communication, but still the most powerful. Nothing moves us the way story does. We believe that is why Jesus used story in most of His teachings. Just like Jesus used story to communicate truth, we believe we too are called to tell our story, and tell the story that changed everything.

Pursue Generosity

We want to train students to be generous with all that God has given them. Most assume generosity is all about money but we want to show students that Jesus expects generosity with all He has given us: time, health, money, resources, etc. We are all about redeeming the world around us and that happens when we are generous people.

Service

Jesus came from perfection in the presence of God as a servant and we seek to model His life in ourselves. To do that, we believe we must also become servants. Comma tries to meet the needs of Chilhowie and surrounding areas through service.

Identify with Jesus

There is more to identifying with Jesus than we can put into a paragraph. The only way we can summarize it is this; there is no other way to live. Identifying with Jesus is a process, it's a way of life, and it's something we do everyday. It looks far different than what most think and we want to help students understand what that looks like for them, in their context, and at this period in their lives.
